Understanding Stroke
Stroke is the third biggest cause of death in the UK and the largest single cause of severe disability, costing the NHS over £2.8 billion. Despite advancements in the delivery of stroke related services there are still alarming deficiencies; most notably a geographical inconsistency in access to quality stroke facilities. This report raises national awareness on how to minimise risk of stroke and looks at how technology is advancing stroke recovery at home.
